If you try to start and play certain games on a Windows Home Edition Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based computer, the game may stop responding (hang) or it may quit unexpectedly when the introductory video clip starts. Additionally, you may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following messages:

Riepilogo: PostScript Print Jobs Containing Type-1 Multiple Master Metrics Fonts Are Not Printed.

When you perform PostScript printing of text that is formatted with Multiple Master Metrics (MMM) fonts, printing seems to stop working completely for Adobe FrameMaker and other non-Adobe programs that do not generate their own PostScript. When the problem occurs, printed pages contain blank areas where text that is formatted with Multiple Master Metrics fonts should appear.

The document appears correctly on the screen; all text appears. Output to non-PostScript devices such as inkjet printers or Winfax devices seems to be correct. 

È stato riscontrato un problema in Windows XP che riguarda la porta FireWire -1394. In pratica al momento del collegamento d'una periferica alla porta FireWire potrebbe verificarsi quanto segue: Mancata enumerazione della periferica al momento dell'inserimento, o la sparizione della periferica al momento dell'inserimento d'altri dispositivi nel  Bus 1394. Qualora abbiate riscontrato tali problematiche, è consigliato installare l'aggiornamento rilasciato da Microsoft!

Per risolvere un problema dell' Explorer.exe di Windows XP, Microsoft  ha rilasciato il seguente aggiornamento. Praticamente il problema si manifesta in alcuni casi con l'impossibilità di chiudere o aprire una cartella mediante l'explorer. Tuttavia il problema è risolvibile chiudendo l'explorer e quindi riaprendolo, e il tutto torna a funzionare. 

"La patch è consigliabile solo nel caso si manifesti il malfunzionamento dell'explorer, in caso contrario non occorre installarla".
